Jenifer's latest works are a collection of Hand Held Fire Screens; a reference to a long forgotten tradition, where ladies used small decorative screens to protect their complexions from the blush of the fire or the gaze of a stranger, while they gossiped about the latest scandals at Court. As a means of both concealing the truth and protecting oneself from voyeurs, the adorned 'shields' are a literal and figurative smoke screen.

These pieces were commissioned by SHOWstudio as part of the Exhibition 'Practice To Deceive: Smoke & Mirrors In Fashion, Fine Art & Film' and can be purchased at the SHOWstudio website, click on SHOP to view.
